An elegant desk that appears imbued with quiet power. Crafted from cobalt coloured vellum, embossed blue Italian leather, and golden Huon pine, it carries a calm, refined elegance. The decorative leather wrapped drawer handle was inspired by the form of a samurai sword. Sleek, purposeful, and unmistakably Japanese in its spirit.

We designed and cast a series of custom bronze symbols, each one thoughtfully placed and inlaid into the surface of the desk. They weren’t just embellishments. They were storytelling elements. Things of meaning for the client. The drawers were lined in hand-stitched Italian leather, detailed with the kind of precision and care that elevates a simple function into a luxurious experience.

And of course, true to form, the desk has its secrets. Hidden compartments. Little marvels of craftsmanship that reveal themselves only to those who know where and what to press.

The entire design came to life through another brilliant collaboration with our design artist, René Manalo. His ability to bring Avante Garde design, structure and clarity to my ideas is second to none. Together, we created something that feels deeply Japanese in character. Restrained, graceful and reverent.

And those legs, with their beautifully tapered curves. At first glance, the junction between desktop and leg seems almost too slender to support such a substantial piece. But inside, they carry a strong engineered core. A quiet marvel. Just like the desk itself. Understated, beautiful, and solid as a rock.
