ART NOUVEAU SAFE CABINET
A steel safe is all function - weight, lock, security - and almost no grace.
Our brief was simple: hide the safe, but make the concealment unforgettable.
Rene sketched the first gesture. An Art Nouveau sweep, all flow and poise. From that drawing, our workshop shaped a cabinet in smoked eucalyptus, rich brown-grey, calm and luminous, its decorative work hand-carved and cast in bronze, then plated in nickel silver and hand polished until it became jewellery, catching the light and amazing the viewer’s eye.
The base and crown are composed of quiet, compound curves. Lines that settle the senses. The handle takes its cue from the garden: a new frond of Monstera deliciosa, abstracted into a sculptural pull that invites the hand.
Open the doors and the secret reveals itself. The safe within is fitted like a small artist's workroom, smoked eucalyptus drawers, bespoke leather-lined compartments, and delightful hand-cast bronze bees for handles. Security remains absolute; the story is all grace. A necessary object transformed into something you can’t help but admire.
