CONSOLE - FUMED EUCALYPTUS & VELLUM

We created this Vellum Console to feel both modern and timeless. The clean geometry takes its cue from the dovetail, that quiet signature of fine furniture.

Materials express the story. Hand-dyed cobalt goatskin vellum wraps the form in a rich, velvety blue; bronzed brass feet and dovetail inserts into the Fumed Eucalyptus tabletop add weight and poise. It’s one of my favourite timbers, with that rare Bee’s-wing figure that shimmers and shifts as you move past it. We finish it with an ultra-clear, hand cut-and-buffed lacquer so the grain reads in sharp relief. Beautiful to look at, durable to live with, and sensibly repairable.

Open the drawer and you’ll find tan Italian leather, quarter-sawn North Queensland Silver Ash sides, and fine hand-cut dovetails. Tapered legs, also dressed in vellum, settle onto bronzed solid-brass feet.

Hidden within is a very secret compartment waiting to be discovered.

It’s a union of craft and materials that rewards daily use. There is only one of these special pieces in the world.
