Four curved, square-profile legs rise and swell, multiple compound curves merge into a single form- an effortless transition, like a giraffe coming to rest in a place of stillness. The mouldings and feet are carved from solid African ebony, giving the piece a grounded, sculptural presence.
The shade is where the challenge truly took flight. Shagreen -traditionally opaque - has been worked into four panels of just one millimetre thin, joined with precision and hand worked in such a way that the bone-covered leather turns semi-translucent. Light passes through as a soft, ethereal glow. Achieving that effect took years of refinement, a development from our 2014 work outfitting the Boucher-designed Rolls-Royce Ghost. What remains is simple: a lamp that feels alive. Poised, playful, and quietly extraordinary.

The Shagreen we use in our products is tanned and dyed using natural pigment. It’s environmentally friendly and created from commercially discarded skins of farmed stingray that are neither endangered nor threatened and are originally harvested as a food source. Materials used in our products are not included in the list of C.I.T.E.S (Convention International Trade of Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna).
